Hello!
Thank you for visiting my website. My name is Heather and I am the founder of Kydd's Crafts (some people ask if I'm a charity helping children become creative, however Kydd is just my surname!). I am based in Edinburgh and have a workshop nearby to work on my projects.
I have always been passionate about sustainability and the environment, and absolutely loathe unnecessary waste. This combined with my desire to make beautiful things led me to create my business!
I started upcycling as a hobby in 2018 and well and truly got the bug. Over the years I have learned new techniques and skills while also experimenting with new paints and products. Nothing is more satisfying than revamping an out of date piece of furniture that was destined to go the way of all things.
I'm currently studying the AMUSF Upholstery Diploma to learn the art of upholstery properly (there's a lot more to it than meets the eye!). I have just completed Stage 2 and will begin my final year in September. I can't tackle a sofa just yet, but please feel free to send photos of projects you would like me to take a look at!
